These terms are for individual drivers and households using the Glovebox consumer app. (Fleet and lender consoles are governed by separate enterprise terms shown in those consoles.) These terms are a contract between you and the operator of Glovebox (“Glovebox”, “we”, “us”), an independent service operated from Jamaica. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read the disclaimers carefully — they explain what Glovebox is, and is not.
Glovebox is an independent tool that stores your vehicle documents, helps you retrieve your own records from Jamaica’s official systems, and reminds you before documents expire or tickets fall due. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with TAJ, the ITA, the CGDS, the Insurance Association of Jamaica or any insurer. We do not issue, renew, inspect, or accept payment for any government document or fee.
Dates, statuses, fines and demerit figures shown in Glovebox are indicative and drawn from third-party and public sources that can change or be unavailable. They may be incomplete, delayed or incorrect. You are responsible for confirming your true status directly with TAJ, the ITA or your insurer, and for renewing on time. Glovebox is a convenience, not a substitute for the official record.
Glovebox has a free tier and paid plans. The vehicle limits, features and prices of each plan are the ones shown on our pricing page and in the app at the time you subscribe — those, not any figure elsewhere, are what you’re buying. Any Glovebox subscription is separate from government renewal fees, which you continue to pay directly to TAJ, the ITA or your insurer. Paid plans renew until cancelled; you can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
When you ask Glovebox to retrieve a record, you instruct and authorise us to act as your agent, using the details you supplied, to fetch your own record from the third-party system that holds it — such as the GoJ certificate portal (registration and fitness certificates), the insurance industry’s cover-verification platform, and the GoJ traffic-ticket portal. You are responsible for being entitled to the records you request.
These systems belong to third parties and have their own terms — for example, the CGDS portal’s Terms of Use permit personal, non-commercial use of the certificates it serves. Records we retrieve are fetched and stored solely on your behalf, for your own personal record-keeping; you must not republish them, redistribute them, or use them commercially, and you’re responsible for your use of them complying with the source’s terms.
Any of these systems may change, throttle, block or discontinue access at any time, and we may add, change or stop using a source at any time. If a source becomes unavailable, the related Glovebox feature may stop working — that is a limitation of the source, not a breach of these terms, and it does not entitle you to a refund beyond your statutory rights.
You agree not to misuse Glovebox — including attempting to access data that isn’t yours, scraping, reverse-engineering, overloading the service, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Glovebox is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure, reminder or record is accurate or timely. Reminders are a best-effort convenience and may be delayed or fail to send; you remain responsible for renewing your documents and paying your tickets on time.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Glovebox and its operators are not liable for any fine, penalty, loss, or damage arising from a lapsed document, an unpaid ticket, a missed or delayed reminder, or inaccurate third-party data — nor for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or loss of income, opportunity or data.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Glovebox and its operators for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the greater of (a) the subscription fees you paid to Glovebox in the twelve months before the claim arose, and (b) J$5,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
If a third party brings a claim against Glovebox or its operators because of something you did — including entering another person’s details without their permission, misusing records you retrieved through the service, breaching these terms, or breaking the law — you agree to indemnify us: you’ll cover the losses, damages and reasonable legal costs that claim causes us.
You may stop using Glovebox and close your account at any time by emailing help@gloveboxjm.com. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or where necessary to protect the service or other users.
These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Jamaican courts.
We may update these terms as the service changes. We’ll post the new version here and update the date; continued use after a change means you accept it.
